Our Care
It’s
all about the care
The care is probably the most
important aspect of the The Lodge. We have developed and are able to offer an
extremely in depth program, taking a Pro-active and holistic approach to
the medical and care requirements for each of our residents. Upon admission we
complete a full Clinical medical assessment and a dietary program. These
aspects combined with other diagnosis make up a huge part of our care plans. We
understand that no two people have the same needs and requirements so each care
plan is designed individually.
Medical Practitioners:-
Residents may wish to continue to
utilize the services that they may currently be comfortable with, or they may
wish to use our visiting Practitioner who is on our premises every second
Tuesday. We have an afterhours medical service available should the need arise.
Continence management program:-
A delicate discussion
point however extremely important in the requirements of our residents many of
the ailments that many elderly people suffer from can be attributed to poor
continence management.
Firsty here at the Lodge we take a
proactive approach. Some aspects in relation to incontinence start with looking at the reason Therefore it is
imperitive that we monitor Hydration and diet as well as watching for emotional and
behavioral changes, often many conditions start from this point. Our care staff
will assist with aids and monitoring.
Medical
management:-
When a new resident comes to the Lodge.
A complete Clinical Medical assessment is carried out. We have a pharmacy that prepares
our medications into Webster packs and our care staff administers all
medications. Any residents that can maintain their own medications are
encouraged to do so under our supervision and guidance.
Many of our residents have Diabeties, are Lactose intolerant, suffer allergies, and several other issues.
We have acces to a podiatrist, dietian,physiotherapist, optical, dental and hearing services
Nursing care
At the Lodge it is all about the care
All our nursing care is carried out in conjuntion with G,P,s and families and reviewed on a regular basis.
We Give
- Assistance with the activities of daily life
- Support for residents with cofussing behaviours
- Emotional support to residents and their families
- Admistration of medications as per G.Ps expectations
- We can offer rehabilitation services (the cost of this is at the residents expense).
